El Planeta Playgroup

El Planeta Playgroup

A playgroup that started to service the children in a women’s shelter and soon became a service for the children in that neighborhood. A facilitator was paid by Child Play International for over 10 years to open the playgroup every afternoon.

Escuela Activa

El Planeta Playgroup

El Planeta Playgroup

It is an inclusive  “private school” for children in a disadvantaged neighborhood in the outskirts of Lima, Peru. This school educates children who do not fit into the overburdened state school system. Child Play International first supported the school by offering junior and senior kindergarten and later on with a music program for all students.

Current Projects

La Quinta Carmelita

La Quinta Carmelita was founded in 2001. La Quinta Carmelita is a house for children, its goal is to give back the children’s right to live in a family. It is an organization that receives children that come from a vulnerable situation and tries to give them back all their rights while they are there, such as education, health, recreation, psychological and medical treatment. The children are provided with all that they need to make sure that their time in La Quinta provides them with a harmonic and safe place necessary for their well-being and development while the perfect family is found for them either by family reintegration or adoption.

- La Quinta Carmelita is truly a family, something that defines all the people that work there is passion.

- La Quinta helps the future parents with the adoption process, they are with them every step of the way. Until there is a perfect match for those parents and the child. The new families feel supported all through the process even after they have adopted the child.

- La Quinta Carmelita is a space that provides a future to the children in need of a family and the families that want to adopt. It is a bridge of hope, La Quinta is an oasis, a happy and peaceful place where children go to better their physical, psychological, and mental health. A place where children can be children again and can hope to be integrated with a family in the near future.
